Cara Jackson has over a decade of experience working with creative businesses.
Cara began her career in New York City at Rodale Inc., a privately held health and wellness publisher, working in corporate communications and business development/business affairs. In 2007, Cara relocated to Nashville to work at Bass, Berry & Sims as an associate in the Intellectual Property & Technology Group, where she counseled clients ranging from start-ups to publicly traded companies on intellectual property matters. She later transitioned from the practice of law into a business development and strategic role with the firm as the Managing Director for the Corporate & Securities Practice. Before launching her business management firm in November of 2015, Cara was the Vice President of Corporate Communications at IASIS Healthcare.
Cara received an undergraduate degree in English from Vanderbilt University and a J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in New York and Tennessee.
Cara served on the Board of Directors of Nashville Opera, including as President of the Board, Secretary of the Board and Chair of Forte, Nashville Opera’s young professionals group. Cara was a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Nashville Fashion Alliance and served as Vice Chair of the Board, Chair of the NFA Governance Committee and co-Chair of the NFA’s Education Committee. Cara has also served on the Board of Directors for Ten Thousand Villages of Nashville.
Cara received the 2018 NFA Honors Champion Award and was a nominee for the 2017 NFA Honors Fashion Insider Award and a 2015 finalist in the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce Nashville Emerging Leader Awards. She was also featured in nFocus Magazine’s 2014 Model Behavior issue, which honors Nashville philanthropists for their non-profit service.
